Club Lane
This committee shall devise and carry into
effect plans which will guide and assist members of this club in
discharging their responsibility in matters relating to membership,
orientation and retention of members and club and Rotary information.
The chair of the Club Committee shall be responsible for regular
meetings of the committee and shall report to the board on all Club
Committee activities. The committee shall include the following
subcommittees:
Classification
committee shall, on or before the first of November of each year, make
a classifications survey of the community: shall compile from the
survey a roster of filled and unfilled classifications using the
outline of classifications, as a guide; shall assign classifications to
proposed new members; shall urge upon the members the importance of
proposing names for such unfilled classifications as have been declared
open by the board of directors; shall review, where necessary, existing
classifications represented in the club; and shall counsel with the
board on all classification problems.
Membership committee shall consider all proposals for membership from the personal side and shall thoroughly investigate the character, business, social and community standing, and general eligibility of all persons proposed for membership and shall report its decisions on all applications to the board.
Membership Development committee shall review continually the club roster of filled and unfilled classifications and shall take positive action to initiate and present to the board the names of suitable persons to fill unfilled classifications. This committee shall also encourage members to thoroughly understand the qualifications for membership in Rotary.
Membership Directory committee shall annually update the membership directory.
Rotary Information committee shall devise and carry into effect plans: (1) to give prospective members information about the privileges and responsibilities of membership in a Rotary club, (2) to give the members, especially the new members, adequate understanding of the privileges and responsibilities of members, (3) to give the members information about Rotary, its history, object, scope, activities, and (4) to give the members information as to developments in the administrative operation of Rotary International.
New Member Follow-up
committee shall ensure new members become active in the first six
months of membership by coordinating with other committees by arranging
to have new members assigned to a committee in which they are
interested in working, give classification talks, and checks with new
members from time to time to answer their questions about the club and
about Rotary.
